1. Get Organized - Write a list of any chores and little jobs that have mounted up and set goals to complete them. It doesn't take long for such jobs to mount up and increase the pressure. Setting goals helps to organize your time whether you want to reduce stress at work or at home, it is a very effective stress buster without a doubt.

2. Move On - As the year comes to an end, the beginning of a new year brings an opportune time to put the past to bed. Dragging up the past is one of the most injurious symptoms of stress, depression and anxiety and here's a technique that helped me enormously. Write down the events from the past that you dwell over the most. List all of them. Put your list into an envelope, seal it, and write on it: The Past. Gone Forever. In early January, find a little spot where you can have some privacy, and dump the past by burning the envelope and assert: You are gone forever, I'm now making a fresh start. Then firmly resolve to never think about those events ever again.

3. The Bright Side - Following on from the above, start to cultivate a positive attitude. Journaling is among the more pleasurable stress management activities however it is crucial for it to be a happy space. Negativity and going over the past have no place here. Maintain a cheerful, bright journal and you can achieve this by asking: What did I enjoy the most today? There'll rarely be a day that passes by without a single nice experience to enjoy and jot down. Tip: Enter "journal writing tips" into Google.

Each of these exercises are really easy to do and if you combine them with calming stress relaxation techniques, you'll quickly reduce stress, anxiety and depression. What's important to realize is that the stress management skills you're now developing will serve you for a lifetime.
